Hello everyone and thank you for checking in on me. It’s been another interesting week in the world, and I hope everyone remains healthy and in good spirits. Today, I want to talk a little bit about my writing journey. Specifically, the start.
When I was in seventh grade, I tried writing a story as part of an assignment. It was kind of a Braveheart ripoff. The overall story wasn’t great, but I knew I enjoyed it. So I started writing a little more, but only short stories.
My first attempt at a novel happened in ninth grade. As expected, it was a mess. I tried to write in my friends as characters, there was a weird medieval to now time travel plot, and I didn’t finish it. Needless to say, I was a little discouraged.
But I obviously kept going. In order to find a success in writing, I decided to start writing short stories that connected. I didn’t think of them as a novel, but merely pieces. Only as I matured did I understand that I was really writing chapters to a novel. It helped me through my time as a young writer, and maybe it offers a little advice to young writers out there. A journey starts with a single step, and we gotta remember that.
Anyway, I think that concludes my Saturday post. Stay healthy everyone and continue to visit us here. Have a Happy Easter!!
